Sunita Sayana, Founder of SmartlyU

Sunita is the Founder of SmartlyU and brings more than 15 years experience as a serial entrepreneur and educator in the technology and education sectors. Over the past three years, Sunita has transformed SmartlyU from concept to a much sought-after SEL program in over 50 schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This initial success has been pivotal in creating the leading-edge online SmartlyU program, which is rapidly being adopted in schools both nationally and internationally. Prior to SmartlyU, Sunita was the CEO and Founder of CareerApple, an online education company that fostered the career aspirations and development of high school students. She is also a public speaker at renowned conferences such as Learning Annex and Invent Your Future and holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Tufts University. Sunita’s background is strongly rooted in education and spans teaching high school in Africa, owning a successful education company and working in executive level sales and business development for various Fortune 500 companies.

Cindy Bernstein Sibley, The Nueva School

Cindy Bernstein Sibley currently works in the SEL program at The Nueva School in Hillsborough, California teaching part-time and facilitating parent workshops while providing psychotherapy through her private practice in child and family therapy. Cindy has worked throughout the Bay Area as a therapist, wellness counselor, counseling program coordinator, college instructor and a health educator. She has served in the public and private sector including Parent's Place in San Mateo, San Francisco Unified School District, New Haven Unified School District, California State University, The Phillips Brooks School, and Tri-City Health Center. Cindy has a BA in Psychology from San Diego State University, MPH from San Jose State University, and an MS from California State University. She is a credentialed school counselor and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Judith Giampaoli, Adjunct Professor, USF School of Education

Judy Giampaoli has been involved in education in San Francisco for more than 45 years. Working within the San Francisco Unified School District, she has held roles as teacher, school counselor, dean of students and middle school principal. Judy has also authored a chapter in the recently published book, School-Based Family Counseling. Over the years, Judy has served on a number of boards supporting students in the arts, after-school programs and working to grant access to counseling services. Judy has been the recipient of numerous awards including Principal of the Year for the City of San Francisco in 2011, selected by Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Tania Gil, Child Counselor

Tania is a child counselor who teaches social emotional development programs centered on a holistic concept of child development. Tania currently teaches at St. Stephen's School in Austin and previously taught at Keys School in Palo Alto, California. Tania has a deep understanding of social and emotional learning curriculum development and has a passion for developing the whole child. Tania holds a BA. in Psychology from Iberoamerican University, Mexico and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the Mexican Association of Psychoanalytic Therapy.


Ishantha Lokuge, CPO Shutterfly & Product Advisor to SmartlyU

Ishantha Lokuge is the Chief Product Officer at Shutterfly where his responsibilities include driving the overall product strategy and execution for the company. As a product visionary with more than 15 years of experience, Ishantha designed and led multiple product initiatives for top consumer Internet and software companies including eBay, Netscape, Healtheon and Silicon Graphics. He has several patents in web technologies, user experience, collaborative commerce and community. Prior to Shutterfly, Ishantha was a Director at eBay, where he led the Selling Experience team. Before eBay, Ishantha was CEO and co-founder of Urbanpixel, one of the first online social networking companies. Ishantha earned a Masters in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab. He also holds a Masters in Computer Science from Tufts University and Bachelors with Highest Honors in Computer Science from Brandeis University.
